Ocean Park

Ocean Park is one of Santa Monica’s most eclectic coastal neighbourhoods, known for its relaxed atmosphere, local businesses, and beachside lifestyle.

Welcome to Ocean Park

Beachside living, vibrant Main Street, and a laid-back coastal community

Ocean Park is a charming neighbourhood in the southwestern part of Santa Monica, bordered by the Pacific Ocean to the west, Pico Boulevard to the north, Lincoln Boulevard to the east, and the southern city limits. The neighbourhood combines older single-family homes, duplexes, triplexes, and multifamily residences with a distinctly beach-oriented atmosphere. Its proximity to the ocean, Main Street, and Ocean Park Boulevard makes it one of Santa Monica’s most walkable and character-filled communities.

Main Street is the neighbourhood's primary commercial destination and is lined with independent restaurants, cafés, boutiques, wellness studios, galleries, and local businesses. Ocean Park Boulevard provides another active commercial corridor, while the nearby beach gives residents quick access to swimming, walking, cycling, and coastal recreation. The neighbourhood also sits close to Santa Monica Airport, Clover Park, and several community attractions.

Local Lifestyle

Ocean Park has an easy going lifestyle that blends beach living with an active neighbourhood community. Residents can walk or bike to Main Street, spend the morning at the beach, meet friends at a local café, or enjoy an afternoon in one of the nearby parks. The neighbourhood is less formal than some of Santa Monica’s more upscale residential areas and has a distinctive creative and independent character.

The Ocean Park Association also helps maintain the neighbourhood's strong community spirit through local meetings, newsletters, events, and neighbourhood activities. The organization holds regular meetings at the Ocean Park Library and connects residents with local happenings.

Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

Main Street is the heart of Ocean Park’s dining and shopping scene. The street stretches for nearly a mile just a few blocks from the beach and is known for its relaxed mix of restaurants, coffee shops, boutiques, fitness studios, and wellness businesses.

Pasjoli is a French restaurant on Main Street from chef Dave Beran, offering contemporary French cuisine with seasonal Southern California ingredients in an intimate setting.

Manchego is a neighbourhood restaurant featuring Spanish and Catalan-inspired dishes, including tapas, cured meats, cheeses, and traditional specialties. It has become a popular stop for residents looking for a relaxed meal on Main Street.

Love Coffee Bar is a local favourite serving artisan coffee and tea in a casual, neighbourhood-friendly setting. Its Ocean Park Boulevard location is part of the area’s collection of independent cafés and small businesses.

Crimson offers Mediterranean and Middle Eastern-inspired cuisine, including kabobs, wraps, salads, and other fresh dishes. The restaurant is located along Ocean Park Boulevard and contributes to the neighbourhood's diverse dining scene.

Ocean Park and Main Street are also home to independent boutiques, art galleries, fitness studios, specialty shops, and neighbourhood services. The combination of local businesses and proximity to the beach gives the area a distinctly casual Santa Monica character.

Things to Do

Ocean Park Beach is one of the neighbourhood's biggest attractions, providing residents with easy access to the Pacific Ocean and Santa Monica’s extensive beach recreation. The area is popular for walking, cycling, swimming, beach activities, and enjoying the coastal scenery.
Ocean Park Beach sits just west of Main Street and is particularly convenient for residents who want to combine a beach visit with shopping and dining. The nearby five-acre Ocean Park Beach area provides a more relaxed setting than some of Santa Monica’s busier tourist destinations.

Clover Park is another major recreational destination near Ocean Park Boulevard. The 17.9-acre park includes playgrounds, picnic areas, baseball and softball fields, soccer fields, lighted tennis courts, a sand volleyball court, and a par fitness course.

The Museum of Flying is located at Santa Monica Airport and features historic aircraft, aviation exhibits, and artefacts. The museum has been a long time attraction in the area and provides visitors with a look at the history of aviation in Southern California.

The Ruskin Group Theatre at Santa Monica Airport presents live theatrical productions and other performances. The airport area also hosts community events and an antiques market, adding to Ocean Park’s collection of local attractions.
